Nursery rhyme origin

This is a very famous rhyme, written by Jane Taylor (1783 – 1824) and published in 1806.
Along with her sister Ann she wrote many poems for children.
Lewis Carroll parodied the the rhyme in Alice in Wonderland by making the Mad Hatter sing,

“Twinkle, twinkle, little bat,
How I wonder where you’re at.
Up above the world you fly,
Like a tea tray in the sky.”
